'Shadowhunters' Renewed for Season 2 #Shadowhunters #ShadowhuntersSeason2

Prior to the chat starting, The Hollywood Reporter tweeted the announcement that 'Shadowhunters' is renewed for a second season! Here's what part of their article, posted here, says:
The Mortal Instruments is the third series chronologically of a proposed five in The Shadowhunter Chroniclesthat includes City of Bones, City of Ashes, City of Glass, City of Fallen Angels, City of Lost Souls and City of Heavenly Fire. The first book of the series, City of Bones, serves as the "skeleton" for the first season of the series.
Shadowhunters is one of several high-profile fantasy dramas that broadcast and cable networks have launched in a bid to appeal to the Game of Thrones base. MTV also has The Shannara Chronicles, based on the best-selling book series, and ABC recently launched Biblical entry Of Kings and Prophets to a lackluster debut. (Shannara, meanwhile, is awaiting word on its fate).
The decision to renew Shadowhunters comes as Freeform has been rebranded with a focus on what network president Tom Ascheim calls "becomers" — individuals who are experiencing "firsts" like love and jobs in a bid to court older viewers.

10 Reasons Why I Hope Shadowhunters Will Be Renewed for Season 2 #Shadowhunters

Later this morning there will be a live chat happening with the cast of Shadowhunters on the ShadowhuntersTV Facebook page (join the chat here starting at 11:15 am EST). With the tweets that McG tweeted this last week (see one of them here), I'm really hoping that today's chat means they'll be announcing a season 2 of Shadowhunters. With that wishful hoping, I thought I'd make a list of 10 reasons why I hope Shadowhunters TV goes to season 2.

Here are 10 reasons why I hope season 2 is a go for Shadowhunters.

1) SizzyI'm really looking forward to seeing a lot more Sizzy! I love the portrayal of Simon and Izzy on the show, and I'm really looking forward to seeing a lot more from one of my favorite Shadowhunters series couples.

2) Malec - This couple is just as crucial as Sizzy and Clace is to the over all Shadowhunters storyline. I'm looking forward to seeing more of a relationship develop between these two as the TV series continues.

3) Clace - We've gotten a lot more Clace lately, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of these two together. There's so much yet to unfold between them, and I'm wondering how the writers are going to create the twist on Jace and Clary's relationship that Cassie created.

4) Valentine- I feel like this is a character who's had so much potential during season 1, and we've failed to see it, because they've kept Valentine hiding in Chernobyl. I hope a second season of Shadowhunters would finally bring him out of hiding, and would allow fans to really see Valentine for the character he is, and how he was written.

5) Jocelyn and Luke - I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more of the two of them both separately and together. I love the adults in Cassie's Shadowhunters series, and I love who they've cast to play them in the TV series. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of all of them in the TV series.

6) Hodge - I feel like we've been teased with Hodge's character this season. Every time he's been in an episode, I've wanted to see more of his character. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him in a second season.

7) The Action - While I may not be the biggest fan of the writing this season, I love this cast, their acting, and the stunts! The action scenes this season have been awesome! I'm looking forward to seeing more action.

8) Idris - I'm really looking forward to seeing Idris brought to life. We've seen Idris via the way Cassie described it in her books, and we've heard the Shadowhunters talk about it this season. I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

9) More Shadowhunters characters - I'm hoping that with a second season, we'd get to see more of the characters we were introduced to in the books.

10) More Storyline - Let's be honest, there's been a lot of ups and downs this season, which was to be excepted. However, a second season provides the opportunity to have those downs worked out. There were things we loved, things we liked, and things we were not fans of this season. Despite not loving everything little thing about the series so far, I am really hoping it doesn't end. There is so much more to the Shadowhunters story that I'm looking forward to seeing brought to life.
Why end it now?

Here's to hoping we hear about a second season of Shadowhunters this morning!
