LOST STARS by Claudia Gray / Blog Tour: 10 REASONS WHY STAR WARS FANS SHOULD READ LOST STARS / Giveaway

Hello & welcome to today's STAR WARS: LOST STARS blog tour! I am so thrilled to host today's stop. Not only am a big Claudia Gray (she's such a fabulous meet if you ever get the chance to meet her in person, do it), I'm also a huge STAR WARS fan! I was over the moons (like what I did there) over the fact that Claudia wrote a Star Wars book! Today I get to share 10 Reasons Why Star Wars Fans Should Read Lost Stars. After you read my 10 reasons, be sure to enter to win!!

10 REASONS WHY STAR WARS FANS SHOULD READ LOST STARS

10) Two words, STAR WARS! This is a book for the die hard fans, as much as it is for a whole new generation of fans! There's action, romance, betrayal, and a whole lot more.

9) It's a classic with a whole new view point. Sure this is a new Star Wars books, but fans will love that this time line covers events from A New Hope to Return of the Jedi, and more! Oh yes, this book leads up to the movie we're waiting to see! How many more days do we have until it's out? Okay, sorry, back to Claudia's writing. Claudia does a fabulous job at giving readers a new view point on the original trilogy. *be still my Star Wars heart* Her writing is just what you'd except to read from the Star Wars collection, narrative and all. She has created something entirely new, and incorporated it into the Star Wars world, and it's fantastic!!

8) New Characters, Same Star Wars Feeling. One of the things I loved about this book, is while there are new characters fans are introduced to, it's still set in the same classic Star Wars world with familiar characters (not necessarily the same beloved names). These new characters are ones I love as much as the original ones.

7) Rebels, Stormstroopers, and a fight for the Empire.... Oh my! Oh yes, this book has it all! Only this time, some of thees characters aren't just nameless characters who are a fill in for the story/movie. There's much more to them than that. Be honest, did you ever wonder what some of the Stormtroopers back stories were? I did. I loved that Claudia makes these characters a little more personable, meaning you may end up loving a rebel.....

6) Star Crossed Lovers on Two Different Sides of the War. Let's be honest, it's not an epic Star Wars story if there's not a rip out your heart, kind of romance right?! Why does anything Star Wars related have to rip my heart out?! I loved it. It ruined me, and now I need the next book. Don't worry, this is a Star Wars book, not a sappy romance, so the romantic element fits the Star Wars world perfectly.

5) ACTION! There is plenty of action. This wouldn't be a Star Wars book after all, if there wasn't any. I seriously love the action scenes.

4) Thane and Ciena will soon be house hold names. These two are fabulous new Star Wars characters. Seriously, I loved getting to know them. Trust me, whether you'll want to or not, you'll end up falling in love with these two, despite the fact they're on different sides of the war. If you read Lost Stars now, you'll get to claim you fell in love with them before anyone else did.

3) Favorite scenes with a new storyline. I love that while this story is a new one, it effortlessly is apart of the Star Wars world/stories I grew up loving. I love the mix of the classic with a whole new original story. Thane and Ciena's story fits right in with the original Star Wars stories. Since Thane and Ciena's story spans through out the classic Star Wars movies, there are some fan favorite scenes, and characters in this new book.

2) The Destruction of Alderann and the first Death Star. It was really interesting, and I mean that in a good way, to read about events I already new happened, but from a fresh view point. This also allows readers to see how these events effected what the characters are dealing with now. Whether or not I agreed with some of their actions, I loved getting to understand them and their motives for their actions.

1) THIS IS THE BOOK that will hold you over until the movie is out! This book has a few surprises for fans! Oh yes Star Wars fans, the Lost Stars may give you a few clues about the upcoming movie, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

My Over All Thoughts

I LOVED IT! Lost Stars is exactly what I would except a Star Wars book to be, only it's better. This is a book that is great for die hard fans, and new fans alike. It's packed full of YA appeal, as much as it's packed full of Star Wars epicness. PICK UP THIS BOOK!!! It's definitely one of my favorites from this year, and gets 5 stars from me!

About LOST STARS

Star Wars meets Romeo and Juliet in this epic YA novel that follows two best friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the war between the Empire and the Rebellion.

This thrilling YA novel gives readers a macro view of some of the most important events in the Star Wars universe: from the purge of the Jedi in Episode III, to the beginnings of the rebellion in Star Wars Rebels, and through the fall of the Empire in Episodes IV-IV. Readers will experience these major moments through the eyes of two best friends who grow up in these troubling times, and find themselves on opposite sides of the war.

As with other Journey to Episode VII titles, hints about the upcoming film will be included in the narrative, as well a original, post-Episode VI content that sets up the new film.

DUAL NARRATIVE: Chapters alternate perspectives between our two protagonists – one a Rebel pilot, the other an Imperial officer. By exploring these two different worlds, readers will experience many of the major moments in the original Star Wars trilogy – from the destruction of the Death Star to the battle of Hoth – through these two characters' eyes.

About CLAUDIA GRAY
Claudia Gray is not my real name. I didn't choose a pseudonym because my real name is unpleasant (it isn't), because I'd always dreamed of calling myself this (I haven't) or even because I'm hiding from the remnants of that international diamond-smuggling cartel I smashed in 2003 (Interpol has taken care of them). In short, I took a pseudonym for no real reason whatsoever. Sometimes this is actually the best reason to do things.

I live in New Orleans. So far, in life, I've been a disc jockey, a lawyer, a journalist and an extremely bad waitress, just to name a few. I especially like to spend time traveling, hiking, reading and listening to music. More than anything else, I enjoy writing.
