Oh my lard, pls just give us some spoilers of anything! Pleaseeee I’m begging you. I need it. *is dying of boredom — herondalepham

In Lady Midnight, there is vampire pizza.

Fire & Thorns Series Read-Along #ReadingRae Chapters 12-23

Welcome to this week's #ReadingRae post. Last week we discussed the first 11 chapters of The Girl of Fire & Thorns, hereThough I kinda of cheated and talked about the whole book by sharing my thoughts of it. As promised, today I'm sticking to the read along schedule, and focusing only on chapters 12-23. Before I share my thoughts on those chapters, you can read a recap of the participating blogs's thoughts from last week's posts here:

MY THOUGHTS

Rae did a fantastic job at setting up her story and hooking her readers in the first 11 chapters of the book. Now she really thrusts her readers into the heart of the story. There's a lot more action, romance, danger, and talk about betrayal! Wow! We learn a lot more about Elisa's world, the characters who make it up, and start to see that there's a lot of twists in this story.

I love that we get to see Elisa's changes. Rae allows us to see Elisa's changes first hand. In doing that, she allowed me to connect more with her, and her story. In these chapters we're able to see her strength, both that inner strength and her physical strength, grow and shine. Her growth has been a tremendous one. She's no longer this weak, sheltered girl who doesn't fit the bill of a leader. All she's had to endure, and being forced to watch what her people are going through, broke her mold. Everything up through now has forced her to become the brave, courageous, and intelligent leader she is now.

Talk about girl power. I have loved seeing the changes in Elisa. Elisa still has a lot going against her. It seems as though danger has become her constant companion. The threat of war hangs over her head, and there's a traitor among them. One of the things I love about this book over all, and it's something that was very much apart of these chapters, is the thrilling suspense, the sizzling romance, and those shocking betrayals. Rae blends these elements perfectly into this story. It's part of what makes this book such an addicting read for me.

These chapters are the beginnings of what made this book one of my top ten readers in 2011. I've enjoyed being able to re-read this book, and relive some of my first feelings about the book. If this is your first time reading it, all I can say is buckle up, and hold on tight. Things are about to get a little more intense. Not everyone is so they seem to be. Rae has definitely created something special with her debut book. I'm looking forward to discussing the last few chapters of the book with you guys next week.
