Cold Stone Touch

 STONE COLD TOUCH Synopsis:
Every touch has its price Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could. But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden. Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay...

Read an EXCERPT:
I’d remained in bed after that, trying to sort through the odd tingling in my chest. There was a slight smile on my lips, because Zayne…well, he’d made my day, but then I’d remember what Roth had said to me the night before and the smile would wash away as if it had never been there.

I probably needed to get used to the whiplash mood swings.

It wasn’t until after dinner that I decided to scrub a day’s worth of gunk off myself. Gingerly, I peeled the bandage off, happy to find that the cut in my arm was healing as expected. I didn’t need to cover it anymore. The arm was still tender, but the Warden blood in me was quickly undoing the damage from the iron.

After changing into fresh pj’s, like a total hermit, I padded over to my desk, where I’d left my cell phone. It had been on silent all day and when I tapped the screen, I wasn’t surprised to see a slew of texts from Stacey.

 Where r u?

 R u skipping, u ho?

A minute later: Your locker misses u. Guess u sick with the herp? Oh my God. I laughed out loud, grinning as I thumbed through her texts. Our bio sub is still hot. U r missing this.

Bio is lonely. My boobs miss u.

How weird is that? That was notably weird and yet not surprising.

If I get my cell taken from me, it’s ur fault.

Holy sh**, Layla, where r u?!?

Air punched out of my lungs as I read the next text and the several following them.

U have no idea who just walked into bio!!!

 Roth is here!

Holy Canola oil, why aren’t u here to witness this?

Ok. He says he had mono. Srlsy? Do people still get mono? And who in the duck was he kissing? A second later—Duck? I didn’t mean duck. That’s SO not what I meant, autocorrect.

Another text had come in about fifteen minutes after the last one. He asked where u were. I told him u joined a cult. I laughed. He didn’t.

Finally, the last text was to call her if I wasn’t dead.

“What in the Hell?” I tossed my cell onto the bed, mouth hanging open.

Top Ten Tuesday #8: Ten Series I Want To Start

This weekly meme is hosted by The Broke & the Bookish

Today's Top Ten Tuesday feature is 10 Series I Want To Start. This post is a little embarrassing to me, because I have 4 shelves full of books that are either series I need to read, or series that I need to finish reading. There's way more than 10 series on my shelves. In no order, here are 10 series I hope to have read within the next couple of months.

  1. Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima. I LOVE fantasy, and back before Mundie Moms started, Cinda's book were one of the first I read. I've been meaning to read this series. Andye with Reading Teen has told me how awesome this series is. I am totally planning on having a Seven Realms readathon soon!
  2. The Arcana Chronicles by Kresely Cole. I read the first book in this series, but somehow never wrote my review (don't ask, I have no idea how this happened). Now with book three coming out in a couple of months, I'm planning on reading the entire series. I can't wait to read the next two books!
  3. The Elementary Trilogy by Sherry Thomas. I adore Sherry, and her writing, and I'm totally embarrassed to admit I still need to read this series. I started book one (and holy crap it is AWESOME) and will be featuring it on the blog shortly.
  4. Doon series by Carey Corp. Doon has been sitting on my shelves for awhile now, and it's one I plan on reading this next month. I have heard nothing but great things about it. It's sequel is hitting shelves in December!
  5. Scorched by Mari Mancusi. Like Sherry, Mari is another local author whom I adore. I'm embarrassed to admit I still need to read both of her books. Seriously, DRAGONS!!! I'm sold.
  6. Not A Drop To Drink by Mindy McGinnis I guess one of the good things about not reading book one yet, is now I've got both books sitting on my shelve waiting to be read. I've heard these books are awesome, and the first book has been optioned for a MOVIE!
  7. The United States of Asgard by Tessa Gratton. I have finally started the first book in this series! Finally. I've heard a lot of great things about it. I recently received book two, and I will definitely be featuring both books on the blog soon.
  8. The Agency by Y.S. Lee This series has been on my shelves for longer than I'd like to admit. At the first three books have. This is another series I have heard nothing but great things about, and have been looking forward to reading it.
  9. The Bhinian Empire series by Miriam Forster I know, another awesome duo of books sitting on my shelves that have not yet been read. Have you seen the covers for these books? I love the covers and I can't wait to fall in love with the story.
  10. Katerina series by Robin Bridges. I love historicals and this is one! Russia, 1888. I can't wait to dive into this series.
These were a few of the series I'm looking forward to reading soon, what are some of the series you're looking forward to reading?
