One kiss could be the last.

Seventeen-year-old Layla just wants to be normal. But with a kiss that kills anything with a soul, she's anything but normal. Half demon, half gargoyle, Layla has abilities no one else possesses.

Raised among the Wardens—a race of gargoyles tasked with hunting demons and keeping humanity safe—Layla tries to fit in, but that means hiding her own dark side from those she loves the most. Especially Zayne, the swoon-worthy, incredibly gorgeous and completely off-limits Warden she's crushed on since forever.

Then she meets Roth—a tattooed, sinfully hot demon who claims to know all her secrets. Layla knows she should stay away, but she's not sure she wants to—especially when that whole no-kissing thing isn't an issue, considering Roth has no soul.

But when Layla discovers she's the reason for the violent demon uprising, trusting Roth could not only ruin her chances with Zayne…it could brand her a traitor to her family. Worse yet, it could become a one-way ticket to the end of the world.

MundieMoms JLA Interview

Hi Jennifer! Congratulations on the release of WHITE HOT KISS. I loved this book. I have to ask, are you Team hot Demon or Team Gargoyle? Lol
I’m Team Hot Demon and Team Hot Gargoyle because both guys have something to offer that I think is appealing.

Layla is such a great character to read about. What was one of the things you admired about her?
I admire that Layla doesn’t let her background own her as she finds out more about herself.

You've done it again..... you've written two great guys that were so fun to get to know. What is one of your favorite moments between Layla and Zayne? What was one of your favorite scenes to write with Layla and Roth?
I don’t want to give too much away by giving a detailed answer to this question.  But, there’s a scene when Roth is taking care of Layla that I like a lot, and then there’s a scene near the end of the book with Zayne that shows his relationship with Layla that is also one of my favorites.

I love how you combine snark, and those swoon worthy moments that I've come to except in your books. What element do you have the most fun writing?
I tend to be really sarcastic and snarky, so I usually have a lot of fun writing the banter between my characters.

Your world building is fabulous. I loved the idea of having gargoyles & demons live among the human world. What fascinated you the most about the world that both your Gargoyles and your Demons live in?
I wanted to write about something different, and I thought gargoyles and demons would be interesting.  I like that in their world in the book the gargoyles aren’t this big secret that’s kept from everyone.

What one of your favorite lines to write in White Hot Kiss?
There’s a scene in the stairwell between Roth and Layla when Roth says “I think I’m definitely becoming a real boy”.  That was one of my favorite lines, and actually on of my favorite conversations, to write in the book.

I love the secondary characters you have in each of your series, because they always play such a big part in your books. Which of your secondary characters did you have the most fun getting to know in White Hot Kiss?
I think that Stacey is a fun character because she really has no filter.  It’s always fun to write a character that will say anything.

Your female characters are AWESOME! I love that they each of their flaws, are incredibly strong, and in some way or another you make them relatable, no matter what world they're apart of. Why is it important for you to give readers strong female characters?
Honestly, I love reading books with strong female characters, and I tend to give my own characters personalities that I would enjoy reading.

What are you working on next that you can tell us about?
I’m currently writing The Return which is a NA spinoff series that features Seth from the Covenant Series.

Have you read any YA books lately that you'd recommend we go pick up?
I loved Uninvited by Sophie Jordan.

Danger is hard to resist . . .

Britt Pfeiffer has trained to backpack the Teton Range, but she isn't prepared when her ex-boyfriend, who still haunts her every thought, wants to join her. Before Britt can explore her feelings for Calvin, an unexpected blizzard forces her to seek shelter in a remote cabin, accepting the hospitality of its two very handsome occupants, but these men are fugitives, and they take her hostage.

In exchange for her life, Britt agrees to guide the men off the mountain. As they set off, Britt knows she must stay alive long enough for Calvin to find her. The task is made even more complicated when Britt finds chilling evidence of a series of murders that have taken place on that very mountain . . . and in uncovering this, she may become the killer's next target. But nothing is as it seems in the mountains, and everyone is keeping secrets, including Mason, one of her kidnappers. His kindness is confusing Britt. Is he an enemy? Or an ally?

Black Ice is New York Times bestselling author Becca Fitzpatrick's riveting romantic thriller set against the treacherous backdrop of the mountains of Wyoming. Falling in love should never be this dangerous . . .

I'm so excited that Becca has this book, and mother one coming out (read the cover reveal article to find out more about her next book). I have been a fan of Becca's since I reviewed Hush, Hush way back when Mundie Moms was first starting out. I'm already hooked on Black Ice, and I've only read the synopsis. I can not wait for this book to be in my hands!! I need it like now!
