Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.

Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present–imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.

Marina has loved her best friend, James, since they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Marina will protect James no matter what, even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it… at least, not as the girl she once was. Em and Marina are in a race against time and each other, and only one of them can win.

All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.

Time travel, romance, and one heck of a thrilling plot that will mess with your mind, Cristin Terrill's All Our Yesterdays in an addicting debut you don't want to miss reading!

All Our Yesterdays is on heck of a debut! This is one of those reads that totally messed with my mind, hooked me from the moment I started reading it, and left me wanting more. I'm in awe that this is Cristin's debut. Her writing is flawless. Her story telling is exciting, addicting, and hooked from the get go. Not only does she create a thrilling plot line, but her plotting itself is tight. I love how unpredictable both her characters and the storyline were.

One of the things I found interesting with this story is that the characters and the story itself alternate between the past and present. Not only did I love the time travel element, but I loved how complex both the characters and the storyline were with this ability. The story itself is told from both the past and present, and trust me, it's not confusing in the least. I like that Cristin made it easy for the reader to know when the past and the present character was talking, which is done through Em / Marina. Mixed into the complex storyline is the romance. The romance was well created, and it wasn't hard to see how Marina could fall for James, and how Em feel in love with Finn.

Speaking of the alternative story telling, and characters, I loved how both of these fueled not only the suspense and intrigue with the over all story, but the character development as well. Cristin allows readers to see the different sides to the friendships, and the romances that are a huge part of this story. At times it's exciting, heart breaking, and trying, to say the least. There are moments that are bittersweet, and other moments that I wish didn't have to end so soon. I loved seeing the different sides to the characters, and how their relationships intertwined both in the past and present.

Marina was a character I had a hard time relating to. I felt like there was more to her than she allowed herself to be. James is someone I was on the fence about. Sure he's good looking, and too smart for his own good, and I mean incredibly intelligent, but to me there was something about him that seemed off. Finn was a character I loved getting to know. It was interesting to see his role in the past, and in the present. I love the character he becomes. Em for me was the character I related to the most. She's fierce, strong, and has this way about her that made it easy for me to relate to her, and had me cheering her on to succeed in her mission to end all that was going on around them. I know that's vague, but if I say what that it is, it will give away a huge chunk of the plot.

The mission itself is the complex part of the story. When it starts off I had no idea what the heck is really going on, except I wanted Em and Finn to make it out of the place they were being held in. The role they play in the present, is explained as they time travel back to the past, which is only a few years. Seeing how their lives intersect with that of the past lives is fascinating as much as it is  surprising. Things start to make sense as soon as Finn and Em find themselves mixed into the lives of Finn, Marina and James. Plot twists start to unfold, the suspense is amped up a lot, and the action becomes nonstop.

I don't even know what to say other than I seriously loved the book. It's not like another else I've read. I loved that there was a little bit of everything in this book. Suspense, danger, intrigue, romance, and "holy crap, that did not just happen". I enjoyed the fact I couldn't predict what was going to happen next. Cristin did a fabulous job at keeping me hooked with her book, and I'm looking forward to reading her next book.

About the Author
Lea Nolan couldn’t read until the third grade. After a lot of hard work she finally got the hang of it and quickly learned the best way to get out of doing chores was to tell her parents she was reading. Soon she was hooked, devouring books by Roald Dahl, E.B. White, Judy Blume, C.S. Lewis, and anything with a shiny Newberry Award sticker on the cover. Books provided a portal to enchanted lands where anything was possible and characters relied on their wits to wiggle out of sticky situations. Today, even though she’s all grown up, Lea writes the kinds of stories she sought as a teen--smart paranormals with bright heroines, crazy-hot heroes, diabolical plot twists, plus a dose of magic, a draft of romance, and a sprinkle of history. She holds degrees in history and women’s studies concentrating in public policy and spent fifteen years as a health policy analyst and researcher. She lives in Maryland with her heroically supportive husband and three clever children, who’ve figured out how to get out of doing their chores.
