Timepiece Blog Tour: Interview with Kaleb, Kaleb's playlist & a Giveaway

It's no surprise to those that know us, that Sophie and I are at odds over which team we're on with Myra McEntire's characters, er guys. While Sophie is all about Michael, I am 100% team Kaleb. Don't get me wrong, Michael is fabulous, but there's something, okay a lot of things about Kaleb that I love. So I might have gone a little fan girly when I was told he was going to be hanging out with me, I mean Mundie Moms today.

Hey Kaleb! Thanks for being hanging on Mundie Moms today. It's wonderful to finally sit down and talk with you about Timepiece. In Hourglass you are the snarky, tall and um, well, hot friend of Michael's that many of us fell in love with. In Timepiece we get to see all that and a little more. How would you describe yourself in Timepiece in 5 words or less?

Big, hot, mess.

You have an unique ability to sense other people's emotions. I can imagine it's a little bothersome to be able to sense a room full of people's emotions. How do you learn to ignore or filter through the emotions you feel from others?

I have meds that my dad created to help me, but if I have any ... um ... mind altering substances it all cancels out. In that scenario, I try to numb it as much as I can. Maybe not the best choice. Okay, never the best choice.

You have two amazing women in your life, Emerson and Lily. I admit I love how they're both able to dish it to you in their own unique ways. What's something you love about each of them?

I love Em because she gets me.

I love Lily because she doesn't let me get away with anything. (She has other ... assets. But that's my favorite.)

Aside from the girls, I love the relationship/bond you and Michael have. I can only assume the two of you have a little bit of "dirt" on each other you don't want anyone else to find out. Being Moms, we're great at keeping secrets... *coughs* what's something the two of you have done prior to meeting you guys in Hourglass that you either look back at and cringe or laugh at? (does this question make sense? I wanted to get a sense of something "boyish" they did together before the series begins - YES. Love it.)

Well, there was that one time we went camping and fishing with my dad and short-sheeted his cot. In return, he put Vaseline on doorknobs and Saran wrap over toilet lids for weeks. WEEKS.

I have to say, I think you met your match with Lily. What was your first impression of Lily when you met her?

Assets. She has them.

What would your ideal date consist of? Remember, you have to keep it clean.

I'd like take her to dinner, and then maybe for a walk by the lake, holding hands and talking about normal things. No rips. No deaths. No worries about keeping it clean; her Abi will take care of that.

I hear you like "hot" candies. What hot candy would you use to describe yourself? Don't worry, Lily won't hear this.

Atomic Fire Ball. Have your way with that innuendo. ;)

*fans self* Well I think it just got a little hot in here. Thank you Kaleb for stopping by today.

We got a little sneak peak into what Michael looks like from Page Turners's tour stop. Here's who Myra pictures as Kaleb. Check out the pictures here and here. Well, I'd say Kaleb is a great mix between these two.

A threat from the past could destroy the future. And the clock is ticking...

Kaleb Ballard's relentless flirting is interrupted when Jack Landers, the man who tried to murder his father, time slips in and attacks before disappearing just as quickly. But Kaleb has never before been able to see time travelers, unlike many of his friends associated with the mysterious Hourglass organization. Are Kaleb's powers expanding, or is something very wrong? Then the Hourglass is issued an ultimatum. Either they find Jack and the research he's stolen on the time gene, or time will be altered with devastating results.

Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their unusual powers to find Jack. But where do they even start? And when? And even if they succeed, it may not be enough... The follow-up to Hourglass, Timepiece blends the paranormal, science fiction, mystery, and suspense genres into a nonstop thrill ride where every second counts.

You can read my 5 star review for Hourglass here. My review for Timepiece will be up later today, and I'll link to that as soon as it's up.

About the book:

Julianne counts the days until she can pack her bags and leave her old-money, tradition-bound Southern town where appearance is everything and secrecy is a way of life. A piano virtuoso, she dreams of attending a prestigious music school in Boston. Failure is not an option, so she enlists the help of New England Conservatory graduate Isaac Laroche.

Julianne can’t understand why Isaac suddenly gave up Boston’s music scene to return to the South. He doesn’t know her life depends on escaping it before she inherits her mother’s madness. Isaac knows he must resist his attraction to a student ten years his junior, but loneliness and jealousy threaten his resolve.

Their indiscretion at a Mardi Gras ball—the pinnacle event for Mobile’s elite—forces their present wants and needs to collide with sins of the past.

Will Julianne accept the help she’s offered and get everything she ever wanted, or will she self-destruct and take Isaac down with her?
