Interview with Cryptic Cravings author, Ellen Schreiber

I am so excited to have Ellen on the blog today, and I'm really looking forward to meeting her tonight at The Dark Days of Supernatural Tour here in Austin, TX at Book People!

Congratulations on your recent release on book #8 in the Vampires Kisses series. Is there one character that you feel you've grown the most attached to through out the whole series? If so, who and why?
Thanks! Yes, Raven! I love to write about her and be her! She is so much fun and fearless that I look forward to running through the cemeteries and sneaking in places as her. She is really drawn to the dark and the mysterious and that makes for some really fun days and nights of writing

With having a large series, do you find it's hard to keep up with what all the characters are doing in each book?
In the latest one I did. There are a few I focus on at a time in each book. But now that there are so many they all want to have their day in the sun--or rather in their case sunset. :) I want to see all of them interacting and their stories grow, too, so I juggle them in at appropriate places.

In what ways are you and Raven a like?
We both knew what we wanted in high school. I wasn’t as outspoken as Raven and I wasn’t as brave. But I knew what I wanted to be and I wanted to explore that. I think people look down at teens sometimes like their mind with change with the wind. And very often teens know more about themselves and others than adults do. I wanted to explore that type of teen and celebrate her.

What YA book have you read as an adult do you wish you had read as a teen?
Franscesca Lia Block books. I love them--the upbeat ones. They are so flavorful and fun.

What is one release you're looking forward to reading this year?
Honestly, I don’t read when I’m writing and when I’m finished with a book I like biographies and manga. It’s not a new book, but I really want to read LOST WORLD by Michael Crichton this summer.

Vampire Kisses 8: Cryptic Cravings
The morbidly monotonous Dullsville has finally become the most exciting place on earth now that Raven is madly in love with her hot vampire boyfriend Alexander, and a crew of vampires has taken residence in Dullsville's old mill. Raven discovers Jagger's plan to open a new club, The Crypt, right here in Dullsville. But is it her dream come true, or her worst nightmare? Raven and Alexander have to figure out what the nefarious vampire has in store for Dullsville's teen and vampire population. Can Raven convince Jagger to listen to her plans to make the Crypt the morbidly magnificent dance club it could be? Will it be safe for mortals and vampires alike?

And as Sebastian and Luna's relationship heats up, Raven wonders about her own amorous fate: Will Alexander ever turn her? Does he crave her and does he want to spend eternity together? And what does she really want?

With cryptic secrets and cravings, this eighth installment in the Vampire Kisses series is a romantic and mysterious thrill ride.

Thank you Ellen for being with us today! Please go here to read an excerpt and find out more information about the tour.

Book News- Wings of the Wicked by Courtney Allison Moulton

We're spotlighting the new cover for Courtney Allison Moulton's sequel to Angelfire, Wings of the Wicked. I really like this cover. I love it when book covers in a series are consistent with the cover models. I think they've done an awesome job with Courtney's covers.

Life as the Preliator is harder than Ellie ever imagined.
Balancing real life with the responsibility of being Heaven’s warrior is a challenge for Ellie. Her relationship with Will has become all business, though they both long for each other. And now that the secret of who she really is has come out, so have Hell’s strongest reapers. Grown bold and more vicious, the demonic threaten her in the light of day and stalk her in the night.

She’s been warned.
Cadan, a demonic reaper, comes to her with information about Bastian’s new plan to destroy Ellie’s soul and use an ancient relic to wake all the souls of the damned and unleash them upon humanity. As she fights to stay ahead of Bastian’s schemes , the revelations about those closest to her awaken a dark power within Ellie that threatens to destroy everything—including herself.

She’ll be betrayed.
Treachery comes even from those whom she loves, and Ellie is broken by the deaths of those who stood beside her in this Heavenly war. Still, she must find a way to save the world, herself, and her love for Will. If she fails, there will be hell to pay.

Now head over to Courtney's site to enter her Wings of the Wicked GIVEAWAY that ends tonight!!

Blog Tour: Guest Post with Angie Frazier

Today's guest post is from The Eternal Sea author, Angie Frazier. If you've not yet picked up this sequel to Everlasting, I highly recommend it. You can read my review here.
____________________________________________

Hello. My name is Angie and I’m a movie fanatic. No, I don’t need help. I need more romantic adventure couples! If you’ve read either of my books you’ve probably already guessed romantic adventure movies are my absolute favorite. What do classic romantic adventure couples require? Usually, they’re from totally different worlds, thrown together unexpectedly, with a need to come together to survive and prevail. It’s even better when they can’t stand each other in the beginning! So here are a few of my favorite couples. I’d love to hear who yours are in the comments.

Jack Colton and Joan Wilder in Romancing the Stone.

This 1980s hit stars a lonely romance novelist who finds herself in the middle of a treasure hunt/murder/smuggling plot in South America. Jack Colton, a rough-and-tumble American, comes to Joan’s rescue in the jungle and soon becomes torn between helping Joan and helping himself to the treasure. There are some serious laughs in this movie. I think it’s Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner at their finest.

Han Solo and Princess Leia from the Star Wars trilogy.

Oh, come on! Who doesn’t love a little Han? He’s so suave and cocky, and Leia cannot stand him. But alas, even the princess of Alderaan can’t resist Han for long. These two have the best banter, and that scene where he’s frozen in carbonite and Leia tells him she loves him…talk about a Sci-Fi sigh.

Indiana Jones and Willie from The Temple of Doom.

I think this may be my favorite Indy film of them all, and Kate Capshaw’s character is the reason why. She’s a spoiled nightclub singer who, in a series of unfortunate events, reluctantly ends up on an adventure with Indy in India. She and Indy have a chemistry that absolutely sizzles. OK, I need to go re-watch this one now…

Joseph and Shannon from Far and Away.

Haven’t heard of this one? Get thee to Netflix and drop it in your queue NOW. I saved this one for last because Joseph and Shannon (aka Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman) are officially my FAVORITE romantic adventure couple ever. They play Irish immigrants from totally different spheres, but both are seeking their fortune in America. It has it all: romance, history, bare-knuckle fist fighting…OK, so that one’s for the guys. Seriously. Watch it.
