Alex Pettyfer & The Casting of Jace- Truth vs Rumors

Recently we've received emails/comments as to why we've not posted that Alex Pettyfer has been cast as Jace. Our answer is, because he has NOT been cast. There's been a lot of rumors lately circulating on whether or not he's been cast. We wanted to separate the truth from the rumors:

* Cassie has NO say on who is cast for The Mortal Instruments Movie
* Yes, Alex has been offered the role to play Jace in the movie, and he's met with the director and has even read the series and likes it.
* Yes, he said he thinks Lily Collins will do great at Clary, and he also said he read the screenplay and thinks it's very faithful to the books.
* NO, the movie will not be canceled if Alex decides he doesn't want the part.

Do we think he'll make a great Jace? Yes, we do, but we also think that those who are making the movie will pick whom they think will do a fantastic job at playing Jace. Here's the great thing about book and movie magic. Just because I picture someone they didn't cast for the movie, doesn't mean they won't do a great job at brining that character to life. I was apart of a large site for another book series turned movie series (Twilight, cough, cough) prior to the movie being made. A lot of people were upset over Rob being cast as Edward, and now look at what a great job he did as Edward, and a lot of people love him for it. That's the magic of acting and movie making. Someone whom we don't picture fitting the role can often times bring that role to life brilliantly.

Am I saying I know whether or not Alex has been cast as Jace? Absolutely not. My point is my love for Cassie's writing and my support and excitement over the movie isn't going to change based on if one person is or isn't going to be cast in the movie (there is NO confirmation on whether Alex will play Jace at this moment). My excitement is for Cassie, as something she created and shared with all of us will soon be brought to life on the big screen.

We're so excited to hear who's been cast and we're anxiously awaiting to hear more. We'll be sure to post the news when we hear it. In the mean time, you'll be able to catch Alex in his upcoming movie, I Am Number Four out next month followed by Beastly! I don't know about you guys, but I'm loving the fact that more books are being made into movies.

The Iron Queen Court Blog Tour- The Iron Court

Welcome to the THE IRON COURT! We're thrilled this is your 1st visit to our court. Maybe we'll be able to sway you to pledge your alliance with us. After all we do have giveaways.....

It's an honor to be apart of the Iron Queen Blog Tour, and we've come to share a message from our Queen's 1st Lieutenant Glitch-

Hey. You probably don’t know me; we haven’t met before. I’m not that obnoxious Summer jester, or that uptight faery prince. Allow me to introduce myself. The name’s Glitch, and if that sounds vaguely familiar, you might’ve heard it before—once—in The Iron King.Remember?
“As technology became a driving force in every country, powerful new fey rose into existence. Virus. Glitch. And Machina, the most powerful of all.” –The Iron King
Yep, that’s me. Put simply, I’m one of Machina’s lieutenants. Or, I was, before that girl came in and took him out. You might be wondering why I’m here. Revenge? Or something even more sinister? Well, you’ll just have to read The Iron Queen to answer that question. I’m here to talk about the Iron Court today. Seems there’s a rumor going around that the Iron Court is pure eeeeeeeevil, and all we want to do is destroy Summer and Winter and the Nevernever and bring the apocalypse down on everything.
And that’s just not true at all--well the evil part, anyway. Technology isn’t bad, and neither are we. So our kingdom is poisonous to normal fey; that’s not our fault. So our last king tried to overthrow the Summer and Winter courts. What do you think Mab and Oberon would have done if they discovered us first? Do we deserve to be wiped out, just for existing? Don’t we have a right to defend ourselves? Summer and Winter can deny it all they want; we’re a part of Faery, too, just like them. If you stab us, do we not bleed?
Or at least stab you right back?
It’s just something to think about, as we head into the final battle. Oh, and I’m supposed to tell you that you can enter to win a prize today, by leaving a comment about what you think of the Iron Court. So go ahead and do that, and hopefully, I’ll see you all between the pages ofThe Iron Queen.
--Glitch, First Lieutenant of the Iron Court

We'd like to tell you a little bit about The Iron Queen, which was released this past Tuesday. Really, if you haven't picked it up yet, we highly recommend you do so soon. It's a fantastic read and our favorite out of the series. Who doesn't love a book that has a sizzling romance, action packed scenes and takes your emotions on one heck of a roller coaster ride.

My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back

Lost On Spirit River Blog Tour- Character Interview

By Tommy Batchelor
Published by Mirror Publishing
Released on November 8th, 2010
Thirteen-year-old Tony's parents are in the middle of divorce, his mother sends him to his Grandpa's along the banks of the Flint River in Southwestern Georgia. With his younger cousin Kathryn, they set out to look for a Christmas tree for the holidays, along with Grandpa's aging beagle, Sally. The three become lost in a snowstorm, which has not hit Georgia in three hundred years. Finding shelter in a hidden cave, stumbling upon Native American art. Now the adventure begins...(quoted from Goodreads).

We'd like to introduce you to Tony, one of the main characters from Lost on Spirit River.

How would you describe yourself in the beginning of the story? How would you describe yourself now?

In the beginning, my Dad came home took all of his belonging and never spoke with me on the divorce. I was angry, hardheaded, became violent with friends. I didn’t need or want anybody’s help with anything. I would handle any situation that came along by me.

Now, I have control over my angry, and when something has me down. I ask for help! I’m able to sit down and talk with my parents about anything that troubles me.

What advice would you give to kids who have gone through a similar situation (a divorce)?

Ask your parents to sit down with you and explain why they can’t live together, or why the divorce. Most children blame themselves for the divorce, which is not TRUE. Do not blame yourself and do not take it out on others, they are your friends and relatives, they just want to help you cope. You need your friends and family in your life!

Your Grandfather's land sounds beautiful and is full of rich history. What is something you've come to respect about the land and its history?

Yes, it’s great! I love to visit Grandpa and Sally and the Flint River is backed up almost to the front porch. We’ve discovered to honor nature each day, what you see today, may not be here tomorrow. We must remember, we are only here for a short time in history. We forget who the real founding fathers of this great state are, the Native American tribes were here thousands of years before the first English man or Spanish soldiers arrived. It shows nowadays in the history books, as the Native American are being squeezed out of America history. They do not need to be forgotten!

Your cousin Kathryn is a pretty strong character, as even against her better judgement she didn't leave you behind when the storm started to approach. How would you describe her in 3 words?

Independent, courageous, funny!

You guys have been through quite a lot. What is something good you've taken away from this experience that you can apply to your life to help you through tough situations?

Even when I’m alone, I’m never really alone! My friends and family members will be close enough to help talk it out with me. If not, I do not get angry and I work it out from within me, finding the answer now comes from my heart and soul.

Thank you Tony for visiting with us today!

Book Review - Delirium

Written by: Lauren Oliver
Published by: HarperTeen
Release Date: February 1, 2011
Source: Netgalley
5 stars - This book is a must have!

Synopsis (from HarperTeen): They say that the cure for love will make me happy and safe forever. And I’ve always believed them.

Until now.

Now everything has changed. Now, I’d rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

Love. Stories, poems, films, songs have been created in an attempt to explain the concept. But imagine growing up in the United States where love didn't exist. I saw you blink slowly as you read that last sentence. What if there was a cure for love? I know what you're thinking -- no thanks, I don't want it. But what if the government made you take it when you turned eighteen? There would be less divorce, less violence, less reliance upon pharmaceuticals, less addiction. You get the idea.

Lauren creates such a world and introduces us to her protagonist, Lena, who is just a few months from taking the cure. In these last weeks, she thinks a lot about what life will be like for her after the cure. All around her, we see the effects of cured family members and friends. They're happy with their lives and go on with their daily activities with a predicatble rhythm. But is this what Lena wants? As Lena and her best friend, Hana, begin to question some of the government teachings and rules, the reader discovers how far the government has gone to eradicate the concept, feeling and existence of love.

I have to admit to sitting back and admiring the absolute plausibility of such a concept. The excerpts of government approved literature at the start of each chapter set the tone for what Lena and Hana have learned all of their lives. As a reader, you can't help feeling sympathetic for them. This level of propoganda is all they know. It is their truth. And then the reality of the horror unfolds as you find out what happens to those who do fall in love and are caught.

I'm a huge fan of well-written dystopian stories and Lauren has penned one that rings true and shakes our most sacred belief system. To top it off, her prose is so lyrical, at times, that yes, I paused to text KatieB and even call her to read a few sentences out loud. I am thrilled that this will be a trilogy and that the movie rights have been optioned.

If you enjoy a love story where love is truly forbidden, pick up DELIRIUM on February 1st. You will realize that a unifying, maddening and unpredictable concept like love will remain even when threatened. It'll be that loose thread in a tightly woven fabric and the temptation to pull it will be overwhelming. So what would happen if you did fall in love in such a society? I know, I'm still thinking about it.

A quick aside for those Mundie Moms who will ask me -- but is there romance? I will confess that there is a multiple-page Kissy Scene that I may have read more than once. And there is...Alex. Mundie Moms, trust me, you will want to meet him.

Thanks to HarperTeen, everyone can read an excerpt from the book, here. After meeting Hana on our DELIRIUM blog tour stop, follow the rest of the tour and meet Alex (at a goodaddiction.com) and Lena (at our affiliates, Page Turners Blog).
