Clockwork Prince Cover News

While we're all anxiously awaiting to hear more casting news for the TMI movie, and patiently waiting for April to arrive so that we can go pick up our copies of City of Fallen Angels, you can't forget about this summer when Clockwork Prince arrives.

I for one can't wait to dive back into Tessa, Jem and Will's world. Cassie had tweeted last night that the cover for Clockwork Prince would be revealed in May at BEA. Sadly, we won't be there, but we can post this teaser Cassie posted today. Here's what she said about the teaser cover-

"Placeholder and cover release date for the Clockwork Prince cover; the background shows Temple Bar, on Fleet Street, near the Institute."

That's not all, read an excerpt Cassie shared here-
"What desperation drove you to me, in the middle of the night, in a rainstorm? What has changed at the Institute? I can only think of one thing..."

Hmmmm I'd like to take a guess on who said this... Who do you guys think?

The False Princess Blog Tour- Interview with author Eilis O'Neal

We are thrilled to have debut author Eilis O'Neal with us today for our interview portion of The False Princess Blog Tour, hosted by The Teen Book Scene.

We are big fans of fantasy, action and romance. What element of the three did you enjoy writing the most and why?

I had fun writing all three, but I’d probably have to say that, in this book, I liked writing the romance portion best. I think I had that part plotted out the least—I ran on a lot of instinct and what felt right, rather than having it planned out beforehand. So there was a larger aspect of anticipation to writing it. More tingles, if you will. Also, the romance part of The False Princess involves one of my favorite characters, Sinda’s best friend, Kiernan. He’s very witty and clever—a bit of a tease, really--and writing him always made me smile.

What would you have done if you were in Nalia's position, when she was cast out of the only life she ever knew?

That's a tough one, and honestly, I'm not sure I would have faired as well as Sinda. There's this moment in the book when Sinda has to decide whether she's going stay in a tiny village and let a hedge witch teach her magic, or take her own path alone. I think that, as a teenager, I might have had a harder time than Sinda going my own way. Then again, it takes Sinda a bit of time to get to that point herself, so maybe I would have surprised myself! That's the thing about drastic changes of circumstance—I don't know if you can know for sure what you would do until you're faced with them.

What is one piece of advice Nalia would give to those who are learning to find themselves?

To realize that you have to like yourself, regardless of who or what other people think you ought to be. To listen to the voice inside rather than the ones outside, even when it's difficult.

When you're writing, do you listen to music? If so, can you share with us a sample of The False Princess's play list?

I don’t actually listen to music while I’m writing, mainly because when I am listening to music I tend to get sucked up into the songs and start singing along! And, sadly, that’s not very conducive to writing. I actually need for it to be pretty quiet to get good work done.

If you could be a Princess for a day, what is something you'd want to do?

I'd like to wander around a castle feeling like it was mine, like I really and truly lived there. As someone who's always lived in Oklahoma, I have this deep obsession with castles. As in, I wish I owned one or could at least live within driving distance of one. I know that in reality they're pretty cold and dark and probably not that fun to really live in, but I still want to try it! So that's what I'd like to do.

Thank you Eilis for being with us today!

If you haven't picked up The False Princess yet, I highly recommend it. You can read my 4.5 star review here http://tinyurl.com/4p6y4cs

Book Review- The Iron Queen

By Julie Kagawa

Published by Harlequin Teen
Released on Janurary 25th, 2011
Source- ARC from The Publisher
5 Stars- A Fantastic Read

My name is Meghan Chase.

I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back (quoted from Goodreads).
With electrifying romance, action packed and heart wrenching scenes, Julie Kagawa's The Iron Fey series continues to engage me emotionally and leaves me breathless at the end. Her richly developed characters become more vivid, real and stronger as they never falter on their journeys. The Iron Queen deserves more than just 5 stars! This is a phenomenal book with incredible writing and I enjoyed every moment of being wrapped up in this story.

Talk about an emotional journey. This is my favorite book out of the series! I didn't think the characters could become any more to life than they already were, but Julie has proven me wrong. The emotions from these characters jump right off the pages and I found myself feeling like I was apart of their journey. With each book in the series the characters continue to become more in-depth, more lively and I feel more connected to them.

Let me just say, I am TEAM ASH all the way! Where I faltered on my team alliances earlier, after really getting to know Ash more and seeing how much his character has grown, I've made up my mind. Meghan and Ash's chemistry sizzles and I'll use a word I seldom use, they have a few swoon worthy scenes. Puck and Ash have some of the best scenes together and had a few laugh out loud moments for me. Grimm is a character who surprised me, as we get to see a different side and know a little bit more about him. Meghan Chase has finally really grown into the fiercely independent, strong character I knew she had the potential for. She has grown the most to me, as she finally has earned the respect of some other characters from the series. She has become a favorite heroine of mine.

A heroine's strength comes from the sacrifices she has to make and Julie does a brilliant job with the more emotional scenes in the book. Julie knows how to blend her action, romance, heart break and humor together well with her characters. I really enjoyed how she introduced the new characters, and allowed me to get to see a little bit into the Iron Court (which has changed how I've felt towards them). I'm really looking forward to getting to know them more with her last book in the series, The Iron Knight! The Iron Queen is everything I hoped it would be and more. I highly recommend picking this book up! It's a fantastic book that I will be reading many more times.

Waiting On Wednesday #71- A Touch Mortal

By Leah Clifford
Published by Greenwillow Books/Harper Teen
To Be Released on February 22nd, 2011

Eden didn't expect Az.

Not his saunter down the beach toward her. Not his unbelievable pick-up line. Not the instant, undeniable connection. And not his wings.

Yeah.

So long, happily-ever-after.

Now trapped between life and death, cursed to spread chaos with her every touch, Eden could be the key in the eternal struggle between heaven and hell. All because she gave her heart to one of the Fallen, an angel cast out of heaven.

She may lose everything she ever had. She may be betrayed by those she loves most. But Eden will not be a pawn in anyone else's game. Her heart is her own.

And that's only the beginning of the end.

I'm looking forward to reading this debut book. Be sure to go here http://tinyurl.com/4vc3vkb to enter to win one of 6 copies being giving away on Facebook.

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, and allows us to spotlight a book that we are eagerly awaiting to be released.
